Rosmersholm

A passionate mix of politics, sex and power

Ibsen’s Rosmersholm is a dark, twisting thriller set in provincial Norway in the late 1800s. An election is looming and young widower John Rosmer finds himself asked to choose between his loyalties to the past and the idealised hope of the future. Changing political tides, an angry press, plus the conflicting demands of an old friend and a new love combine to drive Rosmer to the brink.

Directed by Ian Rickson, Rosmersholm stars Tom Burke, Hayley Atwell and Giles Terera in the West End premiere of a new adaptation by Duncan Macmillan.
