The Go-Between is a musical adaptation of L.P. Hartley’s 1953 novel, staged at London’s Apollo Theatre in 2016. Directed by Roger Haines, the production featured Michael Crawford as the adult Leo Colston, with William Thompson and Archie Stevens portraying the young Leo. The story revolves around Leo’s summer in 1900 Norfolk, where he becomes the unwitting messenger in a secret affair between Marian and Ted Burgess. The narrative unfolds through Leo’s recollections, blending past and present.
