Chita Rivera takes her place amongst an impressive list of nominees in this year’s Best Actress category for the 2015 Tony Awards. The Visit has been revamped for Broadway and opened at the Lyceum Theatre on 23 April. Based on the satirical play by Friedrich Dürrenmatt and adapted by Maurice Valency, the new version of the play has been nominated for five Tony Awards. As well as Best Actress for Chita Rivera, The Visit is nominated for Best Musical, Best Score (Kander and Ebb), Best Book of a Musical (Terence McNally) and Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Japhy Weideman).
