Six Catholic choirgirls from a girls’ school in Oban, nicknamed the Virgin Megastore, come to Edinburgh for a singing competition. Determined to go wild, and get eliminated from the contest, they begin a tour of the city’s clubs – sharing confidences, hopes and a few home truths along the way.
Funny, heartbreaking and raucously rude, Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour – which won the 2017 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy – is adapted from Alan Warner’s brilliant novel about friends on the cusp of change, features the songs of ELO and is directed by Royal Court Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone.
